About

A man leans against a brick wall outdoors with greenery in the background. He is wearing a dark blue button-up shirt over a white t-shirt, black pants, and brown shoes, with his hands in pockets and legs crossed.

Led by Nathan White, a landscape designer with over a decade of experience

Smokebush Studio creates gardens that are deeply personal, considered, and tailored to each client.

Rooted in a nuanced understanding of city living, the studio specialises in landscape design and styling for residential and select commercial projects. Each garden is approached as a collaboration, with care taken to listen, observe, and respond thoughtfully to both the client’s needs and the character of the site.

The work balances structure with softness, blending the rugged beauty of the Australian landscape with classical European and contemporary international influences. Smokebush Studio creates gardens that feel established rather than overworked - Layered, textural spaces that evolve with time and reward daily use.

Every project is guided by a focus on livability and atmosphere and how the space is experienced, how it connects to the home, and how it enhances a sense of wellbeing. From intimate city courtyards to leafy family gardens, the studio’s designs aim to create outdoor spaces that are as inviting as they are visually striking.
